Debut Novel Out Now
A quiet cottage. A borrowed garden. A tiny, wounded visitor. And patience that’s paid off for those who’ve waited. Set between the hushed corners of postwar England and a charming retirement village in the Cotswolds, The Little Hedgehog on Violet Street is a passage of time for ordinary people.
It’s a story of grief and grace, friendship and resiliency, and the extraordinary ways love can arrive—soft-footed, unexpected, and late.
Sometimes, it takes the smallest creature to forge the biggest, most impactful partnerships.

More photographs and reflections from Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Painswick, Bristol, London, and beyond are coming soon.
Adelaide’s favourite spot in Painswick is the terrace of the fictional Painswick House Hotel, inspired by The Painswick. A hotel today, it was originally built as a private residence. The historic property has taken on several names over the years, yet has remained a beloved fixture on the hillside overlooking the lower valley – the imagined setting of Posy Rock and the Foster farmhouse in The Little Hedgehog on Violet Street.
St Mary's Church – the real spire that keeps watch over the village and the Five Valleys. In The Little Hedgehog on Violet Street, the historic church is where Ben serves as a volunteer guide for Explore Cotswolds, the novel’s fictional tour company. St Mary’s is especially beloved for its remarkable yew trees, which have become one of Painswick’s most enduring symbols.
